How do I test ECU for Fault codes?

How do i go about seeing if theres any fault detected by the ecu? Is there any point me doing it becusae the engine management light isnt on but i have a contastant misfire at idle.

i did for quiet a while, i usualy do use the search. I couldnt find anything thoough, maybe i was searching the wrong key words?

no probs SuluR, bear in mind that 14pin pre 2000 plug is mounted upside down on some nissan models tho
(ie, the pins are arranged 2,4,4,4 in that pic)

Im in the car right now having a look at the 14pin. It seems like the two sockects it tells me to bridge in the website you linked doesnt have any wires coming out of it :S (blank sockets)
