HI all has anyone seen hostel yet? I work part time in a cinema in castleford and it`s been packed all night since the film opened.
 
I'm supposed to be going to see it tonight so I'll let you know what I think of it.
 
disapointment aint scary at all just abit hmmm "gory" ish i wouldnt recommend it but its up 2 u as u might crap ur pants watching it lol
 
I've heard mixing things about it so I might not go see it and watch another way :D

Now if you want a thing to think about during and after, V for Vendetta, not as actiony as adverts make out but it does make you think about today's problems.

Let us know what you think of Hostil as I still might go.
 
hostle is for want of a better word crap. its not scary its just gratuatous violence inteded to make you squeem. the storyline is crap and just like an old movie iv seen staring steven segal.. rich bussiness man paying to kill inocent people.. which admitadly does happen in the US and mexico. but like i said the storline is so typicall american.. the black dude dies first kinda thing only there no black dude so we will kill the forigner out of the group of 2 americans 1 sweedish IIRC.. i watched this then went and watched V for vendeta straight after it.. how i wished id just gone to see that.. far better storyline great action good not over the top. also makes you think alot more about so called "Terrorist attacks" but im into all that kind of thing anyway..

The dark looks good and has good reviews and does look like the scaryer movie.. also i carnt wait for silent hill to be released aswel as the davinci code.

going out on friday to see Hostel as some of me mates wanna watch that but i want to watch VforVendetta...but i got out numbered... but i will push my case...

its all balls these days with plotless films about nasty squeemish violence... i do like violence but like hand to hand combat sceenes and crazy kung-fu shtuff... like the good old days...

so i take it that i wont be missing much by avoiding 'Hostel'
 
nope if fighting is your thing then V has some very good fight scens in it.. unless watching an inocent person having a drill pushed into them is your bag.. if it is id watch hostel..
 
anyone can make graphic violence up.. you should read american physco not watch the movie the book is horrific i could put a snipet up but i feel i could get banned for it lol

you shouldnt need blod and guts to make a movie scary the ring (japaness version) is one of the scaryest movies iv seen and tere is no blood in it at all...
 
ive just seen that Inside Man was a gd film...

and i tend to find that jap horrors r way scraier than english/american ones... but everyone has 2 watch Old Boy one of my fav films... gd story line... watch it by urself lol its a touchy subject lol
 
lol yea, thats y i love most jap films lol i dont mind reading subtitles at all... the cinema near me had all the asian films on... but then they took them off :( i was gutted lol

If u want a canny story line and the most gun fights EVER in a film lol watch Hard Boiled... or for martial arts kinda stuff... Ong-Bak
 
yes anybody who says they dont like subtitled films instantly gets ignored im dyslexic so if i can read it and watch then theres no excuss.. plus the fact dubs sound so pants!! they were playing dark water the origeonal at sheffield a year before the american version came out but i never got chanve to see it kicking myself now..

if you lot like asian films.. look for 'Audition' or 'Ichi the killer' on par with any american gory film but have deeply rooted plots...

haha gd point... dubbing sounds crap... im into my Anime/Manga and i always get the jap with english sub... better voice acting... lol and the voices matches the face. Ive seen some films where some massive guy, u would think they would have a deep voice, and they dont... some high pitched squeak...

Yeah ive seen Ichi... Zatochi is another gd film
 
iv never really goten into the animie manga films my frind has shwn me fist of the north star and some others i remember seeing some ages ago when i was in school. whats ichi iv seen ichi the killer thats spaced out!

wait i missed mean micras post lol.. yes ichi the killer is a movie you need to watch twice..
 
i ment ichi the killer, just cba to type the whole thing lol im busying watching lots of jap series... u can download them... and ppl sub them for u... some r amazing lol its like a weekly treat :D haha but then some r crap :grinning: have u seen Battle Royale? (film)
 
battle royal is an altome classic i think even poeple who arnt even into asian films have seen it.. love it. i want to see the second one but i carntfind it anywhere

the books usually are as they can prtray violence and fear on a different level.. in a book it makes sense to have the subconsious talking as a voicover telling the reader exactly how there feeling inside.. whereas on a movie all you have is there facial expresions and the fact you just carnt show some things on big screen.

ong bak is simply awe inspiring, i found battle royal to be a bit "violence for the sake of violence" type of thing. i refuse to go watch hostel coz i dont really find watchin a group of people get tortured entertaining. same reason i didnt watch saw 1 or 2 coz although a lot of people said that it was a brilliant film i just dont like that kind of thing. i watched the original ring and that was really scary.

oh and intial d is coming out in english cinema on the 28th of april, every chav is going to want an ae86 after it lol

i have to say a great movie is "saw" its bit old now n no 2 came out this yr which was ok but imo not as good as the first n i was thinking bout that kiduldhud thing heard it was meant to b quite good

oh yeh battle royal takes the ####...lol
 
ive seen it tonight lads, just got in, rarther scary but a good story line. At first i thought there was a human eating them to it but oooooohh no its more twisted than that.

If your easily scared by blood and guts dont go to see this film. i actually came out laughing with my mates....hmm cant remember what about

I definately agree, did anyone see the original japanese version of 'the ring' it was so sinister, much better than the american remake, that relied on mood music and sfx for scares.:eek:
 
Went to see Hostel last night and it was the biggest load of rubbish I have ever seen. What a disappointment!!

Here's a breakdown of the film:

first 5 minutes - comedy
30 minutes - soft porn
5 minutes - comedy
1 hour - gore
5 minutes - comedy

The lads that were with us loved the first 35 minutes but I did point out that they could have got the same stuff for free from the internet, and they paid £6 to watch the film!!

I definitely wouldn't recommend this film to anyone. Save your £6 and stay at home!!
 
the hills have eyes

A few lads i work with said that the hills have eyes is as gory but with a better story line i think it`s a remake of an old film

yes it is..ther was 2 made in the 80's and this is a remake
 
im sorry but saw is one of the worst movies going and the squal is just dire! i think the re-make of the hills have eyes is better due to the fact we have goten alot better at making people look hidiously deformed lol this adds to it..

i remember watching the ring origeonal on channel 4 when i was about 16 was on at like 2 in the morning i didnt sleep for days and i had to turn the TV around!! the ring 2 and ring 0 are also damn good! ring 0 make your feel so sorry for the little girl/her grown up twin (fit) and you can see why she would want to go on a twisted videotape killing spree!

why do americans think if there are 3 seperate movies they can squeez the lot into 1 blockbuster??
 
just came back from watching HOSTEL... GF draged me there...

now i tell thee, this wanna be movie is a huge bag of vindaloo poo...

save your money and get a fivers wortha pennychews, you'll get more enjoyment out of it...

p.s my GF loved it so much and she loves SawI & II.. crazy
 
hostels good cos its sick rather than scary....i like the old zombie films. rob zobies films,etc,,,

not scary but sick..and funny
 
I was doing a screen check on thursday night and saw the trailer for silent hill and the davinci code they look like two awsome films.
