Brighton rocks!! Freshers '06

Hello all
Well, I finally made it to uni - am studying down in Brighton, at Sussex Uni. Moved down last saturday. No work to worry about yet so all we do is party! Have been out until 5am every night since saturday, and we're off to a fancy dress party tonight. Been out in Brighton twice, monday and tuesday night. Despite all the claims that something of an 'alternate' lifestyle is popular down here, so far it seems like a pretty normal place. Pub crawl on tuesday was mad - over 1000 of us descended on Brighton. We have our Fresher's ball tomorrow, which is going to be finished off with an all-night rave on the downs nearby.
Only bad thing is I really miss my car! I seriously hate public transport, although the buses here are regular at least. Saying that, we do seem to be paying 'London prices'. Anyway, just wanted to say hello really.

aww bless the freshers! im a third year so the union has kind of lost its appeal now!

Few uni pics showing you what we get up to drinking in dee, click the link in my sig, you know you wanna ;)

what 'alternative lifestyles' are you refering to?
if you mean Hommes-Sexuals, well yes, it's rampant.
i would highly recommend the rather prevalent MDMA powder which goes around, make beers drinking so much more.... yes, so much more.
keep a watchful eye out for gangs of youths, they are not afraid of bashing up students! mob rule!
and do, really do, speak to the rastas that snooze on the pebble beach. you will encounter the finest grades of hash.
also, steer away from those awful student nights and encover the potential locked in the myriad of club nights - Dub, Jungle, Psy-Trance - all the dirtest flavours are there to be had.
and make sure you visit Devils Dyke (south Downs) to clear the head, and fly kites :)
have fun, brighton rocks.

Thats where Ems and i were hit by a drunk driver back in April.

Brighton is an amazing place, there's some fantastic bars, some great clubs and the atmosphere is usually very good. Lying on the pebbles smashed out of your head at 4 in the morning is such a mad experience!

The shops, pier, beach and everything else in brighton is great during the day too. One of the nicest cities in England and well worth a visit!

I'm in my first year at Bolton and I have to say...it's RUBBISH!!! It's really quiet, not much in the way of parties going on and there's nobody really to socialise with near me, all my flatmates in the halls are older than the hills-mature students. This is going to be a long three years...

Hey,

I studied at sussex uni 99-02. Had an absolutely fantastic time there. It's got to be my favourite place in the country. Brighton is one of the most relaxed places you can study - plenty of clubs to cater for all taste and plenty of beach to chill out on!

unfortunately it has been taken over by Londonites who don't really understand it's unique atmosphere and house prices have gone sky highgrr
