Do a full service, oil, air and fuel filter. Spark plugs and leads. And probably worth doing the drive belt/s as matter of course, check brake pads and discs for wear - check power steering and brake fluid and coolant are all topped up and not fowled with water ingress etc (blown gaskets, leaks. The usual stuff). unless you know all the aforementioned have been done recently.

Modification wise, have a look at the FAQ section, pretty much everything is covered to get you started.

yeah the car got a full service including new tires etc. i know its been well looked after as it was my lady cousins from new so hopefully not have too many problems with it
