hello! - also emergency advice pls!!

hi from george in crawley,
just joined today, hello!
also....i need emergency advice on the micra i bought....

't' reg micra profile, 16v with ignition probs...

1. after i bought it, the sales guy (typical darn dealer) told me i have to slowly turn the key to get the car to start. i tested it before then and it ran really well after 144,000 miles..
2. this works, but i needed to learn the knack.
3. when i brought it home, i left the side lights on and the battery went flat - no reponse whatsoever when the key was turned.
4. now charging the battery, but i need speedy advice on the igniton - was the battery also being drained somehow in addition to the side light drain?
anybody know this problem with the micra profile?
is the problem electronic or something to do with a worn key?
hope somebody can help me here....work on tues and the old car i replaced with the micra has now runout on the tax front.
any help would be good! thanks in advance...george

ah go on!

george again,
i need an answer please - i am waiting for an 'expert ' answer on another site ,,none yet.
pls help!
g.

How do man, and welcome...i'm no expert, but with a bit of luck you could just have a worn down key profile, (144k might do that!) and a flat battery! Do you have a spare key, and in what way does the car not start if you turn the key quickly? Does the key still turn, or does it get stuck mid turn?
