Its a P-reg, with 42k on the clock and 2 owners. From talking to the current owner its sounds as striaght as they come.

I currently have a 1.0i LX so do know the k11 quite well, but is there anything specific i should look out for which might be expensive to fix/replace?

usual things mate, front cross member, and sills just before the rear arches.

accident damage has been in one/repaired ever classed as write off. with it being low mileage check if its been clocked, wear and tear on car itself will usually give this away

and noisey chains they'll be be fine if they only rattle on start up and then go away, if they constantly rattle gonna cost a bit to replace :(

erm just make sure it works really.

:)

thanks for the reply. just making sure really, as i thought the 1.3 engine might be mechanically different to the 1.0.

I have a pretty good record of buying cars second hand, and a mate is coming with who is quite knowledgable so together we should spot if its a turkey.

I will let you all know how it went.

the main thing id say would be chain, make sure its not rattling, with low milage there is possibliliy of it rattling cause it prorbably would have done short journeys and the engine may not have warmed up properly every time

Advice may be a bit late but make sure its not a ringer, outstanding finance, crash damaged, all paper work in order etc.

Bet you did all that anyway!!!

i bought it! is a great drive, mechanically sound, bodywork isn't as good as she made out but i knocked her down 150 quid and will look into getting the bad bits sprayed.

Now the hard part, selling the other one

its the bright green colour (whats the nissan name for that colour?), will hopefully have time to take some pics tonight.

it does have a few marks here and there but generally its very good. Going to get rid of the tar spots and t-cut a few spots then polish it up so it will look even better hopefully.

Put it on autotrader tonight and its in saturdays admag so fingers crossed for some interest.

bet your well happy goin from a 1.0 to a 1.3! i went from 1.0 to 1.3 to 1.0 and then back to a 1.3!

its advertised for £900ono let me know if you want to come and have a look.

Where abouts in Derby are you at mate?

I'm also from Derby

Where did you see the SR advertised as I would have probably had it too if I'd seen it!

live off ashbourne road, what about you?

saw the SR on autotrader website on monday morning, the seller had only put it on on sunday night, it was in manchester though but i have a mate with sat nav on his PDA and we went up monday night.

I'd been checking autotrader, exchange & mart and fish4cars as well as the local papers for the last couple of months. I was ideally looking for a black one but this was a great price and low miles. There is a gold one i was considering but it was in newcastle (and the missus didn't like the colour), check it out:

http://www.jcsperformance.co.uk/main.htm

Its car no.63 on the third page of the stock list window, 77k and its up at £1495 - and its only £15 single on the train up to geordieland ;)

There is a blue one on autotrader that i went to look at on saturday, its near killamarsh south of sheffield and it was a right dog, he was asking £1695 but its done over 100k, the bodywork was bad and it stunk of damp inside.

I live next to the park in Chaddesden?

Yeah I check autotrader every couple of days, seen a few on there, but didn't have the cash at the time... there was a black one, 1 lady owner, fsh, 40something thousand miles last week for £1,300.

I saw the blue one i think, but was a bit too pricey.

My SR was for sale, pics here http://www.micra.org.uk/t2498.html

But think I'm gonna be breaking it now

yeah i saw those, looks really good, but as is the way with you modding guys once you're done you have to have a new project! :)

I have a mate in oakwood who has a mk2 escort with a cossie in it, hes sunk over 30k into it over the last ten years. Hes always working on it, mainly cos he breaks it driving too fast on track days. You may have seen it around, its white with stickers for Saddlers Bar on it.

BTW i saw mentioned in your thread that you'd had some spraying done. Who did you use and what was the cost?

Don't think I've seen it, will keep a look out.

The car was pretty much as it is now when i bought it.... my next SR will be left standard, apart from full suspension kit and maybe a manifold and exhaust

All i've sprayed on the car is the tailgate handle, which i did myself

I had a new bumper sprayed, but that was on insurance so not sure on cost

I just saw the car on Auto Trader... you're very lucky!!

It has PAS, ABS and rear discs doesn't it? think you got a bargain there!

it has the rear discs and abs but not power steering, she made a mistake it would have been a steal if it had all three!

nice colour car, if i do say so myself! :D

the clear side repeaters and clear rears look nice with that colour car aswell..have you got much planned for it yet?

Jay sounds right to me...I mean why wud any manufacturer give you ABS and discs all round and most other electrics but no power steering??

if you can't tell by turning the steering wheel, simple way to check is look in the engine bay for the power steering fluid resevoir.

i went to see it. Its totally overpriced (as dealer cars are). It has patches on the sills and its sat there for months, everyone should totally avoid it.

glad i spotted the one i got!

i may do the repeaters and rears in time, but want to get the bodywork sorted out first. It looks ok in the pics but there are a few marks on the front o/s corner and the o/s side is a bit scruufy.
