Gearbox failing!

Adter only a week with the micra, noticing very slight whine and some metallic scraping whilst driving (except when clutch is depressed) gear changes and clutch is smooth, but I know the box is dying.
Just wondering if all k11 1.3 boxes are compitable? (I've found a few all around £100) And what sort of garage costs I should be lookin at the get the new box / clutch fitted.

Mines a 99 facelift, so I was looking at a box from a 98, is there anyway to check its right before I commit to buying ?
Car is really low mileage so god only know how they treated the gears lol

98 was the change-over year eh, make sure it has an electronic speedo drive and no crank sensor mount
