Thanks for your e-mail. We have been reviewing our involvement and the
assistance we have been giving to car clubs and forum members and I'll try
to explain the current situation. We are currently in an awkward position in
that we sell most products at lower than retail prices, some prices are
already discounted slightly, some heavily and a few not at all. The current
prices reflect the discounts we receive from manufacturers and I can assure
you the deal most UK Performance and Motorsport dealers receive are less
than Demon Tweeks receive, this is mainly due to the fact they charge £3300
per page (2005 price) from the manufacturers, for them to display their
products in their catalogues (each catalogue, ie Motorsport, Performance,
Motorcycle etc), this is something the UK public don't often get to know! It
also ensures they get a huge load of big free catalogues to hand out, the
rest of us have to spend a fortune to produce our own and just receive a
Product CD and pricelist from each manufacturer if we're lucky!
Anyway because we already offer discounts on most products, between 0 and
35% off UK RRP's it is not easy to give your members a blanket 5%, 10%, 15%
etc off our current prices. Annoyingly many Forum's rave about the likes of
Demon Tweeks because they offer say 10% off across the board as an example,
some of our prices are already lower than that, but because we can't offer a
blanket deal we get very few mention's at all, which is very frustrating,
especially as we are more than happy to help and are keen to do some super
deals, especially to genuine clubs and enthusiasts with special offers and
group buys etc.
So to help ourselves in 2007 we will be producing a colour catalogue (or a
series of different ones) and will move all prices to full UK RRP's. As soon
as this happens we will then be able to turn round to those keen to help
promote us and will have some blanket discount deals, and these will be
reviewed and discounts will increase as members become more loyal and their
group spend goes up. Our assistance will work both ways, you scratch our
back and we'll scratch yours, so to speak!!
We have already had some new programming done to our website system to allow
us to upload all the RRP's and to automatically set the date they come into
force, this is being done daily ready for the big changeover which will
occur on or before the 1st Jan 2007. From the date this switchover happens,
all forums who express an interest in promoting and recommending us to their
members, will be issued with a user name and password and be able to log
into the website to view all products at their reduced rates. The discount
rates will be reviewed every 6 months and based on the member numbers and
sales, the discounts will increase. We will be discussing these finer
details next month and as soon as possible, will e-mail all the car clubs
and forums with our finalised details and plans.
In the mean time, of course we are happy to try to help you and your members
with group buys and package deals etc, but until the larger plan outlined
above has been completed and is up and running, you will need to e-mail me
on behalf of your members to get the ball rolling on any special deals or
requirements or if you require details of products not on our website. We
don't admit to selling everything, but we do sell an awful lot more than
