exhaust modding

hey guys,looking at after market exhausts,but just dont have the funds,so was thinking....what about modding an original fitting one? buy one,cut the end of the can and remove the inside restrictions, reaply the end and fit!free flowing and better sound and direct fit! anyone done this before is is there a flaw in this idea? have tried the search bar but nothing came up,hence the question,what do you all think?

i think Frank just used a straight bit of pipe once....

there is no flaw really as long as its fitted properly afterwards...
