Engine cutting out?

My missus has a 1998 1.0L micra which now and then cuts out while driving, no spluttering or misfiring but just cuts out, but restarts at the turn of the key.

I have had the top off the ecu, to check for fault codes, i found the led which stays lit with ignition on or the engine running, but no trim pot to put it in diagnostics.

Any help appreciated.
