head unit cutting out

my head unit cuts out when im driving. it wont go back on if i press the power button, or take the facia off and put it back on. only turns back on if i turn the engine off and restart. which is obviously gonna be a bit of a gadge if im driving on a motorway. any ideas?

i'd have to say a poor earth, my amp used to do that, then re-done the earth and all was good

Earth or power connector is bad, is it an aftermarket unit, and who fitted it?

its an aftermarket unit, and ian fitted it

it was fine til my dad used my car. then again, so were my tyres, inner arches, CV joint... tisk

not to sure you could blame that on your dad but worth a try !
