distributor

Does any one know why early K11 model micra distributors along with rotor arms(are they still fitted?) are not service items as the K10 ones were. Later K11 models have low voltage plug leads which cannot use traditional Dist/Rotor systems as 12v will not jump any sort of gap.

I am curious.....please help!

Its the early K11 that puzzles me, HT leads, but no dist cap/ r-arm that needs servcing why? Is it all switched electrically, not mechanically as old mini's etc

They are the same principle as minis, metros, etc... Believe me they need replaced periodically, as the contacts in the dizzy and the end of the rotor do suffer wear with jumping spark, its possible Nissan doesn't want to share their service info!

According to autodata, you should inspect HT leads, coil,etc.......... at 18k intervals, and if needed renew the offending item(s)
