dissy testing

now the micra is ok i was trying to find the exact cause of the breakdown.
the coil primary resistance is 0.9 ohm's (book 0.8 ohms)
and
the coil secondary resistance is 11.3k (book 1k)
i know the secondary is out of spec but it isn't open circuit so would this be the no spark cause
the other part to test is the magnetic pickup can this be tested by the diy'er
i have a feeling more specialist equipment is needed for this.

my understanding is that the optical cas (cam sensor) sends a signal to the ecu, and the ecu triggers the coil

the main reason i am asking this question is that i don't want to throw away the coil thinking its knackered when it could be the optical cam sensor or vice versa, the micra isn't mine but my partners i bought it for her for christmas to learn to drive in.frank do the readings i have for the coil confirm the coil has had it or should it still be ok.

high resistance is a sign that the windings have shorted surely ? i would try swapping the coil if you,re determined to find the fault :)
