Difficult to engage gears? Any ideas

Hi Everyone
My new/old micra has a problem
Its quite difficult to engage gears,
I figured i'd do the clutch cos it feels like it needs replacing.
My question is , is there anything else i should be worrying about while im there?

have the cable fully loose, start the adjusting from their til gears start smoothly selecting (its solved it for me big time)

Sorry to be a drip, but are you talking about the clutch cable adjustment or the gear selector cables?

clutch cable mate, its under the battery and visible in day light
the gear selector has metal rods that select gears
my gear box/clutch seems to like being engaged when the cable just allows gears to be changed when engine is running

You could always try a gearbox oil change. That could help.
