Custom vented bonnet

I am thinking about modifying a k11 bonnet to have a vent like the picture I will put up if I were to do it who should buy it and what would a reasonable price be

Belongs on an evo 6 :) but that's my opinion. Will look different as you say.
What work you having done? Just the bonnet fitted? Or paint matched?

I'm liking it however I reckon it'll need to look exactly like that one to be honest dunno how youd manage it? The k11 bonet would look strange with just the vents? I reckon.... Please feel free to make me a bonnet with a bonnet scoop on :D

See I cant understand why the dub lot get flak for bolt ons and people with 90s styling. Turbo micras make you wish you could get bolt on gear. and I actually like body kits and some aero stuff I can see @skymera cringe at me
If this was a dub he wouldn't bother... it's not bolt on
Exactly. If this was a Dub I'd expect more judgement.
Maybe the 90's is coming back!? :D

Wait, never mind..

yeah but I would just stick to bolt on if I knew I could just until I could get a certain part which will work without touching it

I'd HAVE to change the wheels if that was my Evo. But like, not my car, etc etc.
Each to their own, is what we're trying to get at I think :p

Spot on max. Without people exploring different things the world would be a boring place.
I believe we may have hijacked this threads gents.
We do apologise micra racer (sorry don't know your name)

I like your bonnet vent idea. To make things a little simpler and costs a little cheaper would it not be easier to fit the Ford RS bonnet vents say from the Escort/Fiesta 1990's Turbo cars. You weould be asble to do these yourself most probably. But hey. I'm 42. What do I know about cool. :) jon

My mate has a fiesta rs1600 bonnet with those vents that has been bad boy'd, I can pass on an offer to him for them if anyone wants but I doubt he'll take less than 35-40 for them (joked about fitting them to my car at one point)

if this is a hit then i may start doing lots of custom stuff but only if i get a good profit would any of you guys my bonnet it will be like that purple micra but the vents further forward and should i use a facelift bonnet or pre facelift

First spend a couple of hundred thousand on r&d into a wanted product. Develop it into a marketable product that meets consumer needs.
Then spend a couple more hundred thousand manufacturing and producing the product
Fixed ;)

Good example, K11 Mid Spoiler, Rare as feck, you could spend your time making up something similar!! as the originals are impossibru to find then sell em on

Also, micra owners never tend to have that much money... I assume custom bonnets won't be cheap?

Apologies if I've generalised too far :p

I have been tempted by a bonnet vent of some sort. Need to do some research on the science to it all. Not to sure if cooling my turbo via a direct vented bonnet may cause cracks or power losses. Plus. I am a bad man. So I need a ricer bonnet stylings.

Rapid shock cooling is what cracks castings, a bonnet vent will slowly build up cooling with speed, and the thermal capacity of air is relatively low so the cooling won't be too rapid. I'd imagine you want turbine hot as it can be without breaking down oil and compressor cold as it can be without oil being too thick for maximum powahhhh.

Just raise the back of your bonnet :) creates a low pressure which draws air though your existing grill :) no cutting or vents required. Even easier if your on bonnet pins :) (by that I mean no hinges etc just pins)

i took the rubber weatherstrip off at the back of the bonnet, for extra ventilation when stationary and low speed.
but i find that the heater vents will still blow over a certain speed (even with the blower off) so there must be some sort of pressure increase at speed in the scuttle area ? how about some subtle wing vents chris :)
