choke contantly kicks in and revs are extremely low when choke stops??

Every time I start my k10 the choke kicks in and stays on for a good while. When the choke stops the car ticks over on very low revs and sometimes sounds like it wants to cut out. I dont know if this is a little problem or if its normal. Also sometimes my car cuts out and doesnt start until i give it lots of throttle. I really want to know whats causing this cuz its starting to annoy me. Anyone have any clues to what could be the problem and how to sort it out? Thanks.

Check all the Vacuum Hoses for splits.
Check the tension on the 2 Springs at the front and 1 at the back of the Carburettor as they help to open the Choke and get the revs down.
Adjust the Idle by turning the philips Screw at the back of the Carb. You may need a new bottom and/or middle Gasket.

You could get some Carb cleaner and try that as the carb does get gummed up after a while.

This place supplies them http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NO-New-Nissan...emQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262#ebayphotohosting

You'll need to send them your Chassis number so they can get the correct part.
