K11 choke fault?

Hey all.

My trusty rusty March needs attention, but I can't find the problem.
She starts from cold and runs perfectly for 5 -6 min, then develops a hesitation on the throttle. Enough that from tickover, she will stall unless you are very gentle and allow for the coughing. Usually the idle speed increases to about 1400, but not always. If she stalls she turns over without firing, and I have to crank her for ages and ages and ages with my foot hard down... After a few miles - when the engine is warm - she runs perfectly again. The first few times she showed the engine check light, but not any more.

Throttle body is good. Lambda tests ok with a warm engine. No yellow light.

Anyone ever had trouble with the automatic choke? Feels like its under/over fuelling as the engine warms up. Is that it on the front of the TB above the injectors, or on the side by the MAF board? Is it controlled by the ECU or is it direct?
I kind of suspect the choke or something related because trying to start it like that is exactly like forcing the choke out of cold start mode, I've had to do that before when the car was only run for a minute or so.

Any pointers welcome please.
