the easiest way is matiz rear springs for the front, cut the rear springs and a set of barina rear shocks and a adjustable panhard rod. I can help you do it if you get the bits together.

just buy tyries coilovers or new, then you can adjust as needed, a lot safer than cut springs, I bottomed my car out(rears) on a country road when I first got my car and nearly ended up in the trees, + the fronts used to come out of the strut and damaged the shockies. I replaced with 30mm lower king springs and I'm still kicking myself for not spending a bit extra for coilovers

The other problem with chopping your spring is if you go really low the spring will not be captive.

If you are not sure what I means, when your suspension is full extended the springs are no longer held in place, see the picture below.

Not as much of a drama on the front strut as the springs cant go anywhere just a bit of noise as the spring pop back into place.

But the rear is another thing indeed. The spring is held in based on the length of the shock, when you use standard shocks and really short springs, when the suspension extends fully the spring can (in extreme circumstances) fall out completely.

For your own safety and the safety of other road users it would be best practice to buy coilovers or shortened shocks/springs. Additional to the safety factor the performance will be better and wont break your back on every little bump on the road.

Check the classified section Tyrie is selling a set of coilovers for $550 + delivery, I'm sure he would be willing to negotiate on the price. If you buy coilovers I would be willing to help change them but not real keen to be responsible for your death or that of another road user.

Just save the cash and do it right.

Hi guys, not trying to Hijack this thread but its the same question:

Can you clarify this a little for me, I missed out on those coils going for $550 - devastated by that but ohh well..

What year/model Matiz rear springs fit on the front of a Micra? - I have a 1995 Super S.

What model/year Barina rear shocks? Do Barina shocks also fit the front?

Cheers!

Having a hard time working out how I can go low without forking out $1000 or doing the old chop chop all the way around ( Realllly don't like the idea of this.)

* BTW - If anyone has coilovers going for ~$500 make sure you let me know.

2000 on matiz springs in the front and back? So just stock ones or lowered ones also?

SB model shocks - not sure what you mean by SB model?

Sent PM with number! Cheers.

i used corsa b shocks on the rear shifter, and ground 1mm off each side of the lower bush (so that it will drop into the axle mount) and an M10 bolt too,
and matiz suspension changed about 05 (so pre that)
but i prefer the alto rear springs now, they were slightly barrel shaped after 05 ish (and that makes them catch the upper rear perch slightly)
here,s mine with 4 x alto rears fitted

That's a perfect height for my project.

Ill look for Alto rear springs for front and back.

Thanks a lot for this! It's been a slightly daunting task trying to figure out what will and will not fit!

Hey Shifter,

To be honest, why f*** around with parts from other cars? Just spend up to $300 and get a set of brand new lowered king springs DESIGNED for your K11! ill help you put em in for a 6 pack or something! i live in perth too and would be happy to help. Heres a link:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-M..._Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c2368624a&_uhb=1

What are you wanting to get out of it by the way? just lowered for looks? less bounce and a smoother drive? better handling?...

Also, what condition are your shockies in? My fronts were f***ed when I got the car, lol.

Mine has everything, coilovers, whiteline swaybars, p.h. rod, twin 3" intake, 2.5" h.f. exhaust, plus alot more, and done it all myself. Email me if your interested, [email protected]

Hey Pietervdb88, I'm 99% convinced I will go with that option as Alto springs etc are hard to find - Would like it as low as the white K11 above but alas seems hard without coils ( $1000 is $500 ish out of my range at the moment!)

I want the looks to be completely honest. Ive had WRXs with all the handling and crap and I know that will come with lowering it, but this time I want pure looks.

I'm looking at getting some 14" rims also, aiming to fill the guards.

The car is getting PlastiDipped in dark grey/black and is currently off the road getting paint and panel work done by myself - have also rolled guards in prep for lowering.

Should really start a build thread!

* Front shocks are stuffed - Looking to replace them at the same time so any suggestions of shocks that will fit are welcome! :D

*Genuine Nismo exhaust ordered from Japan and custom CAI made by myself - NEED to try and make/buy some form of extractors to get the most out of it - unless I buy a starlet turbo setup and go down that path. - tempted.

* How did you make a twin 3" intake BTW? Would love to pick your brains about this and grab any parts you have left over lol!
