Anyone know how to remove NATS alarm system??

Hi I am planning on clearing up the engine bay and I'll need to disconnect the battery however ive heard when people have done this the NATS system immobilises the car, so I was thinking of removing it before hand?
Good decision or not, and how's it done please?

What year?

From memory, NATS 1 in the early K11's 93-95? can be bypassed.

NATS 2 cannot.

I had a 96' with NATS 2 and had no issues disconnecting the battery.

I'd seriously doubt disconnecting the battery will do anything much to NATS, AFAIK NATS uses a key, key reader / transponder and the ECU to check that's it OK for it to start, change any of those and there's trouble.

Removing NATS needs to be done by reprogramming the ECU, Ed @ fusion can do it but it's not worth it unless you can't source the correct keys and transponder.
