1.0 Micra Mods for Racing

Evening All

Like GlenJ i race autograss but in a different class. My class allows most modifications with a few restrictions


CC limit is 1130cc
Engine is to be from the manufacturer and must have been fitted in that model

i have a K11 1.0 micra (older model with detachable grill)

having read several posts on here and via the WWW it has become apparent that the best starting point is 1.3 cams a good service and jobs a good one.

any other recommendations?

is the 1.3 gearbox any good or better than the 1ltr box?

are the heads the same does the 1.3 have large inlets and exhausts?

any advice appreciated?

Gearbox and injectors are same on both engines....however the 998ccc runs flat top pistons and the 1300 runs dished so compression is diffrent

Diff ratios are different, makes 1.0 box shorter ratio I thought.

Very true, 1.0 box is better for acceleration, 1.3 for cruising

Also the 1.3 has a bigger clutch but you don't need to worry about that unless you get over about 90bhp where the 1l clutch starts to give in

Enlarging exhaust manifold will be worthwhile also look up the micro Micra project.
