    Micra NA screamer for sale

Well it's been sitting in the shed while I've been busy with other projects and hasn't had the attention it deserves so if anyone is interested in purchasing the only NA quad-throttle-bodied Micra in Australia now's the time. Check out the photo gallery in my profile for the build progress which...

    Changing member's details?

Can't, for the life of me, find the section on the website to change my profile details. Am I going daft in my old age or has it dropped off the site. While I'm at it, the site's got lots of old and out-of-date info like cars that have long since disappeared. Is anyone tackling this?

    Got to laugh

Thought I'd do a simple job and replace a left roof strip that had been missing since I bought the Micra. So I handed over $90 to Nissan Australia to get one strip which I thought would include all that was needed to replace it. WRONG. Just got the metal/rubber strip but no clips to attach it...

    GTR vs Micra

The May 2008 edition of the (Oz) Motor magazine runs an article (pages 45-56) where they compare the performance of the R32,33,34 and 35 GT-R's on a test track in Perth. Just happens to be the very same venue and course (the Speed Dome) that I've previously run in the past in my Micra () and...

How many NA screamers out there?

There seems to be an emphasis on Micra turbo conversions but what about those hi-revving, NA Micras out there? I know they are thin on the ground but how many are out there in Micra land? To qualify they must have had some internal mods - cams, pistons, rods etc and of course rev to 7500+...

    Perth Motorkhana revisited

I'm competing in a motorkhana at the Speed Dome, Eddie Barron Drive, Midvale on Sunday 2 March so come and check it out, or even better, compete. I've booked for the pm session starting 1pm but may be in the am if there's not enough numbers. It's a great event that's easy to compete in as...

    Annoying warning box pop-up?

I keep getting an annoying warning box with the message: The server dev.ratetheplate.com.au at Restricted Area requires a username and password - with boxes to type into. I've had this appear at home and at work so not likely a virus/computer issue. It only appears when I open the Micra site...

    Hill Climb

Took the Micra out for a run on Sunday at Jack's Hill hillclimb here in Perth. No trophy but was fastest under 2L car in small field so was happy with performance. John from Tenagagh Motorsports (who's doing some head work on White Knight soon) took out the day, so he can drive as well as...

    Latest competition results

Competed in another sprint on Sunday and went well - improved my time from 133.00 to 129.93 sec. I can attribute this to my new D2 coilovers improving cornering mainly by reducing front roll (see before and after shot below) and a bit more power with the new exhaust manifold. Video at...

    Japanese March club video

Saw this today. Nice bit of March K11 and 12 club track action.

    4:1 Manifold

This is the latest dyno run after changing from 4:2:1 manifold to 4:1 item from Impul. Some explanatory notes first: 1. This dyno runs low so ignore absolute HP figures - can run 10-20% lower than other dynos. More interested in HP changes and the shape and area under the curve. 2. Previous...

    Micra Sprint Video

Some in-car footage of the quad throttles at full noise for the first time at a club sprint on Sunday: Results yet to be posted but wasn't disgraced.

    Nismo K11 model

I would love to buy this - if I could read Japanese! http://members.at.infoseek.co.jp/shift_up/garage/k11march.htm

    Advice on 4:1 exhaust manifold

Anyone got any idea on the ideal length/diameter of 4:1 exhaust manifold runners for a NA CG13 application? Or otherwise where I can source one?

    Quad throttle update

The throttle body install is nearly there. Took it for a test drive and sounds awesome. The airbox has probably toned things down a bit but it makes all sorts of whistles and hisses on desceleration and of course a nice bark above 5000rpm. The biggest change is that it pulls all the way to the...

    Micra replacement

The project Micra now has no A/C and is getting pretty close to being a dedicated competition car so I've been on the lookout for a replacement of the calibre of the Micra. Biggest hurdle is that both my wife and myself had to agree on the same car. I liked the Polo GTI (naf interior and...

    Quad throttle bodies install

I've had the throttle body kit for a while now (Jenvey item sourced through Mathew at Humphris of Oxford) but finally decided to bite the bullet and organise the installation. This hasn't been a simple decision as the position of the throttle bodies/trumpets necessitates ditching the brake...

    Micra Screensaver

Great screensaver off the March Cup site (http://www.marchcup.jp/race/screensaver.html) showing the line and datalog of a car competing at the range of circuits the race series is conducted on. I downloaded Fuji and spend ages looking as the dot symbolising a ballistic Micra weaves its way...

    Saurus Kit Car

Saw this running at our local raceway here in Perth recently shipped over from Japan. A Saurus kit-car built in Japan (or offered as a self-build kit) as an entry level race series. This one has a Nismo build plate. Uses a 1L Turbo March engine driving the rear wheels through a Pulsar gearbox...

    Competition results

Had the NA Micra project's first competitive outing on Saturday at a Hill Climb in Perth (Jack's Hill Wanneroo). My main concern was embarrassing myself and finishing last - I needn't have worried as I finished mid-field and 2nd fastest roadcar in a time of 45.42sec. Just beaten by a Lancer GSR...
