Have a search for slamburglars on google

Would still love one and whack my wheels on but still waying up the odds ....

the side skirts are the wrong way around in the pictures, hence why it doesnt fit.

you took a picture of the passanger side skirt on the drivers side.

mk2 mx-5s have the same shell. bar front and rear ends. iirc they also got better suspension top mounts.

Thought it was time to change the air filter:

Out with the old:

The car is in a need of a spray job. I was originally gonna spray it,then i thought i'd get it vinyl wrapped...then i was gonna spray it...but then changed my mind again.

Taken inspiration from my Old VW Polo Mk2 Breadvan

Only managed to do one side as i ran outta time. Got most of next week off for JAE so will do some more then :)

No i havent forgotten to do certain areas its meant to be 'patchy'. I did like the way it was on the Polo, but i like it more patchy this time :)

Those wheels look mint mate. Not sure about the digital camo vinyl, but I'm sure it'll all come together once it's finished and slammed on it's arse on those Superlites (Y)

Lowering isn't a word i would use in this situation... the springs need to be halved at the very least!
I mean you could hide immigrants in those arches!

You might like these ....

Also

Couple of things ... make sure yours isnt the short nose crank / pulley .. cos they have a weakness....people used to have to glue the woodruff key into position from what i remember ... I think they were 1990 models.

Check the hoses in the engine bay that feed and return from the heater ..... they fail and unless your the unluckiest person in the world thats about the only reason these little beauts go pop .....

If first to second gear is a bit hard to engage when cold thats normal.

Slight Tappet rattle means time to change the oil

The new air filter looks nice ... but count the number of pleats ...... sorry I am a air filtration engineer lol ... so notice when they only put half the media in.

And I think I am right in saying that these are non interference engines ... and if thats the case no big worries about the cambelt. ?

Change the oil regularly and you will easily see 250,000 miles

Maybe see if you can get a set of RS-R racing springs .Tokico dampers... you can drift the back end out and its so controlable BUT its HARD and Harsh if the roads nothing but perfect ... ohhhh and forget using a trolley jack from then on .... which reminds me .... dont jack the car up on the two beams except at the very ends .... or you will crush them :) ...... most have already been done lol....

Oh and if you need to set the timing .... watch how sharp the bulkhead edge is .... ;)

Thanks for the info! Will check hoses tomorrow :) I jacked the car up on the susp arms,is this the best place?

Didnt know about the head rest speakers,i dont think i have but will check anyway :)

I always jacked mine up on the arms ... although if you look at the end of what i call the two channels running under the car you can see the stronger parts at the ends ...... oh and dont ever tow the car with the "eyes" as they are tie down eyes lol :)
Tempted me to buy another ... was shopping for a second micra but ...... lol

Yesterday i got the Mazda insured and on the road. So last night took a drive out to a location which had a nice large concrete pad....so it was rude not to have abit of a play :p

I dont plan on running with wide arches unfortunately. Ive seen whats involved and i dont wanna start cutting 2" of metal away from my arches :p

Only reason i said was because i know someone locally who had the wide arches and he had to cut 2" of metal away from the lip before he fitted the arches to give him the room for the wider wheel. Other wise when the suspension 'compressed' the original arch would foul on top of the tyre and would eventually damage it.

But if you can get away with just rolling the arches and still fit the wheels, then i may be interested :p You have PM

Took the 5 out last night for a late night practice session

Then the 5 decided to chuck out some coolant,we suspect that it got abit hot under the bonnet and it started to boil...

Changed the wheels back over and that was the end of the night. Going for another session tonight hopefully gonna get some decent pics/vids so keep watching!

Yeah definately! I know of a place just outside of Norwich where i take it,cant go there too often though (if you know what i mean ;))

Ordered my coilovers Saturday afternoon, got an email Monday saying they had been dispatched from Belgium. I had a knock on the door this evening (29/9/11) at 6:15pm with a parcel :D

Also got a few other goodies coming, watch this space!

Popped over to Stews this morning to fit the Coilovers. Fronts were a pain to do and took up most of the day, rears were very easy.

Stew rolled the arches before we begun changing the suspension
