Wiper issue

Hi all My wipers failed yesterday in heavy rain. I went at it today, they had been operating faultlessly til now. I could hear the motor operating so reckoned linkage. This is what I found lying loose in the wiper bay. As there seems to be nylon liners that go over the ball section I assume that my issue is wear on the nylon. So, my question is, I can buy new arms online, sold as a pair, do you think popping on a new short arm is the way to go. I assume that this is possible without removing the linkage assembly completely. Thanks in advance. Mike

Take the whole assembly out to fix it. Its only a couple of bolts.

Thanks for that, I was try to avoid disturbing as little as possible. I am in Ireland so buying from the UK can slow delivery with the Brexit regs. I will hit the local motor factors on Tues and see if the can sort me out with just the arms. I may get away with replacing the short arm in place. Thanks again.
