One wiper gone

I had a problem with intermittent wiper function parking halfway on its return journey and an accompanying constant scraping noise (not the blades) when the wipers were on.

Now this morning in heavy rain one wiper stops at the top of the screen (of course it had to be the driver side!)

Is this likely to be motor related or linkage? If it was motor would both arms not have stopped??

Sounds like the motor is working fine.
I'd be looking at the linkage.
Also the wiper arms have nuts that may require tightening. You could remove them quickly and check the splines underneath to check they haven't rounded off

As suspected, one arm off the linkage. One of those clips should do it for a while.

Even with the wipers taken off the intermittent still isn't returning as it should. I can hear a click - relay???

Sounds like the circuit can't work out where to stop
