Will k11 start and run with speedo cluster off?

If I take out the speedo cluster, will the k11 still start and run? Cheers

Out of interest how can the speedo cluster effect the alternator?

because it need the current draw from the tell-tale bulb to energise the field coils tom

Interesting I thought the alternator would charge the battery just from spinning with the engine regardless, learn something new everyday I guess

they dont have permanent magnets tom, so you have to feed the field coils else it wont give any output you need a battery and then a small draw (5w bulb or a resistor) to kick it into action
