Which Alloys??

Now i have my Arches im thinking about what kinda wheels i need to buy.

The car will be lowerd 35mm and fitted with Blistien dampers

The only dilema i have is i travel 200 miles a week in 4 days for work and that includes a mile long dirt track of utter big potholes.

SO.......

1.) What inch of wheel do i use?
2.) What offset
3.) What width of wheel do i use i.e 6J- 7J- 8J??
4.) What size tyres?

If you can answer all the above then i will love you muchly :blues:

As i said....at least 7J or 8J, tyre width 195, and just bring them huge spacers (Y) My opinion

Oh and some alloys like these:

I would go for 14" maybe 15" if you wont drop the car more than 3.5cm. If you'll drop it 5cm as mckenziecz suggested go extreme and put 13"

you,re gonna need some negative offset to fill those arches eh jas
here,s how minus 35ish looks

Right ive done abit of my own research based on what you guys told me and i am having trouble finding wheels wide enough and with the correct offset to fill my arches.

Ive been finidng wheels and typing them into willtheyfit.com Ive found mindland wheels do starmags 4x100 in 13x7 with a offset of ET-6...........And i could fit 20mm bolt on spacers to get the extra width i need.

spacers would do the job but i would avoid them if you can. now im gonna send you an pm with ebay link i didnt wanna share, but they would fill the arches nicely, its just about taste now.

You could go with some bolt on PCD adaptors, to go to 4x108 and use old school wide minilite style (paint 'em black for some faux wantanabe style cool) from a rally escort, or 4x114.3 and import something truly stunning from japan.

Or possibly from a bit nearer to home.

I wouldn't be too worried about using spacers, so long as the wheels are a respectable width (7"+) and low offset they wont need to be too big. Just dont let little wheels get lost under there.

high offsets will put a hell of a strain on ally adapters imo  i fitted those spaced out slicks on post # 4 to the front of mine to try some drag-starts :wasntme: and the increased scrub radius made the steering feel horrendous  (it was barely drivable, thats probably why the widebody rally k11,s have extended wishbones/shafts)

But surely i do not have to get the wheels right out to the edge of the new arches..................In the white micra on Matt's price list it shows its running not very wide wheels??:blues:

There are loads of people on here that have wide arches..............Please tell me what size wheels you run and what the drivability/turning is like

Well I thing you should get the wheels right to the edge of the arches or its gonna look ridiculous imo. I know there is more types of wide arches for micra but your one is the widest ive seen so far. Like Frank said that Micra on matt's site must have extended shaft/wishbone etc. to run "normal" size wheels. I was thinking why dont you get your steel wheels banded?

I missed out on those compomotive wheels byt £2.00 grr

Ive looked at my arches once more and rekon they ARE NOT as wide as you people think........they are the same size as a MINI COOPER SPORT PACK ARCH wich covers 13x7 superlight wheels.

Im going to measure from HUB to end of ARCH to see how much gap i have to fill and then work out what size wheel and offset im going to need.
