hi guys
i have k11 1.3slx so have the standard 6x9's on the parcle shelf, problem is there not loud enough,
i cant have a sub as i have to carry my wakeboard so need the space. im thinking of getting new 6x9's with an amp?
does anybody know any good deals and what components work best
i have a pretty good pionner head unit so thats a start
any advice would be great
cheers guys
chris

Why not just get a decent set of comps up front with sound deadened doors and amp them. Then just run the standard 6x9's from the HU. Will sound a hell of a lot better with that kind of set up.

Before we can recommend a setup if would be best if we had some idea of the budget you have to work with.

hi, what if i got a 4 channel amp and ran the front speakers and 6x9s off that, i really dont know too much about all this stuff ex power outputs and all that jazz,
got a couple of hundred to spend
cheers
chris

Are the 6x9's in a standard parcel shelf?? If so, you may find that making a custom parcel shelf from MDF will give you better SQ. Just an idea. :)

New decent front components - amp them right up.

Keep the standard rears running from the headunit, you'll hardly hear them with some nicely amped fronts.

You can also put the amp under the front passanger seat, saves using up any boot space.

I'm running some amped fronts (2 x 150wrms), and my ears give in before they do - they will go seriously loud if needed....

Only thing I'm not sure about is the depth of the fronts, but seriously, that setup should make you happy.

Sod the passangers - your in the front ;)

Nice package Pete.

Think the Alpines need a mounting deptyh of 63.5mm or 2.5". So they'll need spacers to mount up front.

cheers guys, im off to halfords in the morning ti checj tghe sizes then buy it off the net, once again
cheers

Halfords wont have 'too' many good brands of components. It's worth checking the manufacturers websites for the specs.

Your probably looking at ~55mm max mounting depth... :)

i personally would get a stronger parcel shelf probable a stealth firstly for security reasons. any thief who see's the speakers will want them, and then assume you must have some more ice in the car worth nicking.

I am having mine made up, and secondly they will make a stronger surround for your speakers, and make them sound sweet (hopefully)

i have installed alpine in my car. got some in my doors at mo, and those on their own, make my mirrors shake. not to mention what its like when you have 6x9 in the boot. Halfords do some nice sub and amp packages, the kenwood one made my heart jump when it came on

ok, i went to halfords (cas its close) and saw these speakers and probable gonna get one of these amps, cheers for all your help guys
