What is your first driving memory?

What's your first ever driving memory (you don't have to be the one who was driving in it)?

Mine is actually a dream.:wasntme: I dreamt that I was in my kiddie seat in the back on my dad's Ford Capri, I was being driven onto the A38 at the Kingsteignton roundabout, and there was no driver! :suspect: Think I had that same dream about 3 times!

First memory with me driving was setting off on my first unaccompanied trip after I passed my test - slipping off the clutch at the end of the road, and then not being able to get my Austin Metro to crank over

Thought I'd killed it  Then, in the process of pushing it to the side of the road, must have moved something and it started up again perfectly (well, as perfectly as can be expected from a 10yr old Metro)

I swear if you get them at just the right position, starter motors or engines simply won't crank over :suspect:

First non-driver related one (probably influenced by the first post in this thread) was a nice big crash in my dad's Capri - shunted from behind into my auntie's Volvo

I gingerly put my seatbelt back on so I wouldn't get into trouble of my parents

First memory I can remember was going over to our aunts in our silver Datsun 260Z.

Another memory is sitting in it when it was in our garage in bits nearly pretending Im driving it.

Oh the good old days. :p

I think it was when we moved house when i was about 3 or 4, following a green removal lorry to our new home and pulling into our driveway in a metro!

i got too many from when i was wee but the one that stands out most was when i was bout 9 and i was in a big volvo, me n six others-lol all legal and off the road btw, the guy driving was kicking the pants out of this thing n burst 3 tyres eventually we were goin round on rims n sparks-lol wat a sight that is seein sparks up the side of a car lookin out the window :D

OMG, can so recognise Manda's cute cheeks there!!

My first expereince was in Army Cadets when was about 13, guy sat us (unsecured) in back of jeep and floored it over some bumpy field, us all holding on for dear life, stopped and said so you're first at driving to me, got in front a cause I hadn't a clue I simply floored it over the field, was brilliant, everyone had a go and one lad almost fell out whilst driving cause his door was open!!

Hmm - tough one.

Sitting my first driving test with a horrific hangover, started up the car in gear, no seatbelt on and stalled it more times than my Gran.

Failed it too which was a #####!

Throwing up in the back of my Dad's MK2 Escort and leaving an attractive brown stain on the tasteful black and white checkered seats, which remained until it was sold some years later.

Also my Mum's Mk1 Fiesta. I just remember the black vinyl seats burned my legs in the summer. Oh and finding mouldy bits of toast under the front seats left over from eating breakfast on the way to school. Strange what you remember

Passing my test and jumping onto the motorway and going for a drive lol - i had been driving since i was fourteen so the motorways didnt really scare me lol

Daz :alien:
