What does it mean when..

Hi, I'm so glad I found a micra forum! I'm new btw, anyhow, I own a k11 micra 1.0 16v '98. And my knowledge of car mechanics is very basic (mostly google problems), but I have a problem and I was wondering whether I should be worried, basically when I go from second to 3rd gear, the car starts to shake whilst running along almost as if the powers not going through, this only happens every now and then, sometimes in second but more commonly in 3rd, am I not shifting properly? Accelerating properly? Or is there something wrong with the power getting to the car, I'm from Birmingham btw so if anyone would like to come and just give my car a check to see if its decent I would love that as I know NOTHING lol

Anyway sorry if I haven't put enough info if you guys need to know any thing please just ask

Thanks

1 ,Does it crunch when changing gears any whining noise? ? = gear box oil low/ needs changing. Drain it and sieve it. Look out for metal bits that may have broken off from the gearbox.
2 , How high does your clutch pedal rise before you get your biting point? = Possible adjustment / replacement
3, Does it misfire? / feel like it is choking? - check plugs / full service / cat blocked.
4, Buy / borow a code reader. = do a diagnostics check for any electrical faults i.e sensors / relays???

Had it recently serviced so dont think its the gearbox, my biting point is about half way up so its okay. One of my mates drove it and said its fine and says maybe because I don't have a rev counter I misjudge the shift which causes it, think it should be okay, thanks :)
