Hi All

One of my tyres on my micra has a gash going round the whole wheel (from my arch). Although there's plenty of tread left, there is significant damage where the arch has rubbed. Is this likely to fail an MOT for safety reasons? I'l get a few pictures up in a bit.

Cheers

it should fail if there is evidence of the tyre rubbing the arch BUT it depends on the mot tester i would get a tyre rather than risk it!

If the cut is serious enough then yes you will fail. They check that the tread is at the correct depth (is it 1.6mm? summat like that) but they also check that tyres fitted on the same axle are the same size type and structure, and that there are no serious bulges or cuts on the tyres aswell as a pile of other stuff...for more information click the link below mate:

Bought four more Toyo's, the front's were down to the minimum mark, so will change those over soon! £165 for four delivered (not fitted). Would rather have spent it on something else!
