I think we’ve also got to be aware that just because the big companies own these smaller tyre manufacturers it may not mean the share common technologies, tyre reviews are subjective and the opinion of the reviewers which may not be shared by x, y or z. My current tyres Kumho Ecsta HS51’s that came with the car isn’t a brand I’d have considered before however now at least for a K12 with standard 16” alloys I certainly recommend them, they’re quiet, reasonably good fuel economy, and very very grippy in the dry.
Not tested them in the wet, but I’ve no idea how they’d be on an M3 or Kia Picanto so I generally don’t base my purchase decision solely on the strength of a review.
