Troubles starting...

Hey guys, my micra runs fine but sometimes it doesn't want to start.
I'll put the key in and turn it but it might take 2 or 3 goes to get it started. It seems to start easier when it has been running and sometimes when the car is very very hot (35 degrees Celsius outside lately)

I also noticed last night that when I rev it the headlights get brighter... Perhaps unrelated though? That would be the alternator correct?

Please advise on what I should do...

Sounds to me like alternator but check your battery as well, the battery wouldn't affect the "rev increases light source" drama but it fixed my random 'no start issues'.
