Timing chain?

dunno karl, you,re best to take the cam cover off and physically check it, and if it looks ok then remove each belt and listen

How much give should the chain have?

if you dont turn the engine karl, it should be tight on all 3 lengths (sprocket to sprocket)
but if you turn the engine the tensioner will retract and then the chain goes slack.
just check its not slack (while the tensioner is still under hydraulic pressure) then turn the engine to check for any wornout links :)

chain does not have to make a noise to be no good, best way to check is to take rocker cover off and measure plunger on timing chain tensioner. anything over 15mm and it's shot. no need to start turning engine over by hand or anything like that just turn it off take the cover off and measure it
