Throttle body ?

Hi I have a few questions about the throttle body if anyone can anwser.just down from the squre plate that covers the MAF sensor there is what looks like a recessed mixture screw or similar what does it do.and if I starts the engine with the MAF unplugged will it cause any problems

another thing when the engine is ticking over if you turn the steering the revs would pick up but they are not doing this any more what could be the cause
cheers

The steering will be caused by the power steering (assuming you have it) . If its not doing it any more then cheack the belt and fluid first of all

And the screw is to adjust the idle. And if you run the MAF unplugged it will probably just run like crap

Without the MAF connected it'll run on safe mode which basically means it'll run but the revs will be all over the place and you'll struggle to get over 30mph

no the steering works ok (PAS) but when the engine is just ticking over if you move the steering it nearly cuts out where as before the revs used to pick up automaticly

idle control valve problem maybe ? or pressure switch on the p/s pipe near the master cylinder ?

their is a very nice guide here,, in k11 guides but you have too drop some tokens
well worth it if your keeping the car

is the switch replacable.when moving the steering from lock to lock there is one point just before full lock to the right where the engine gives a quick blip does this sound like the switch is at fault
cheers
