Throttle body replacement

Hi,

I started our Micra 2003 S the other day and the engine warning light was on. It was idling ok but had no power. I tried driving the car but couldn't get it to go faster than 20 to 30 mph.

I got diagnostics plugged in which turned out to be P1122 and P1126 - Throttle control relay and throttle actuator.

I bought a second hand throttle body off ebay and have fitted it. Started the engine and the idling revs bounced constantly. Pressing the accelerator didn't seem to do anything at all.

Once the car had warmed up it seemed to idle ok (less bouncing revs) but all of a sudden would rev quite high, then continue idling for a few seconds, then this would repeat. I pressed the accelerator and it still had no affect.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi I have same issue, any updates on repairs? I read that you can reset accelerator pedal after unplugging certain things..

Wow, it took admin a long time to post my query, i'd given up on it!

Jon, it turned out to be the signal going to the throttle body and not the throttle body itself. Therefore i had to replace the ECU. It is now working. Googd luck with yours!

hi, same issue with me but i already replaced ecu but still the problem is there. at first start when CEL is OFF, it revs good but after 2-3 seconds, CEL is ON, no response from throttle even pedal is on the floor.
