The Nissan Micra K11 1.5 D - QUESTION

So can someone here... enlighten me? Why wasn't this diesel variant of the K11 released in the UK? Where was this car released? as I never saw it in Ireland as well.

The only places I have seen it in person were

ITALY
SPAIN

That's pretty much it...
I would love to get my hands on one, but they're like a unicorn.

Thoughts? Anyone here a K11 diesel owner?
I don't know why it was never released in the UK, but I would love to know the reasons or marketing behind that.

Perhaps they did/do exist here LHD, just did not catch on or appeal much in this market without a turbo?

If I was obsessing with diesel then I would simply go with the flow diesel market leaders such as Citroen/ Peugeot & or K12/K13.

My 26 year old K11with a non turbo diesel lump would be like driving a house brick.

The K11 is a small, cheap, lightweight, disposable Japanese Kei series car not well suited to a heavy bulky noisy 1.5 diesel lump.
