Replace the whole suspension arm (wishbone), easier unless you have a ball joint splitter and serious muscle to do it at home.
Had mine changed for mot in December cost about £90 fitted (£50 for the arm £40 labour)

Position lamp?
Well if front and rear must be side lights, surely?

You'll need to change a couple of bulbs by the sound of it (pennies, and a few minutes)

first of all thanks for the replies

when i got home i was straight on the internet and discovered that the position lamps were indeed 'parking lights'.
thanks andy and jen

the machanic confused me with jibberish.

the parking lights do work, i think he just forgot to take the key out or turn off the ignition the fool.

now i just have to sort the bushes.
