"stripping out" legalities

Hello to one and all!

Apart from telling insurance company, is there any other legalities to do with stripping seats and carpet out of a car?

Also, how much do you lower it at the front and the back to keep it level?

Never had any troubles. If there not in there for an mot at worst you'll get an advisory such as seat belt missing unable to test.

i am fairly certain you only need a seat belt if a seat if fitted, no seat no need for a belt as there is nothing to restrain

No legalities to my knowlege. Can't comment on the other question though I'm not sure how you'd alter it without cutting springs.

Some people say that stripping out means that you car is actually now a "2 seater" and should be declared on logbook and insurance as such.

Personally, I never had any problems with anyone with my old Fiesta stripped out

I stripped out my first super s and fitted racing harnesses, i was stopped by the police a week after and all they were bothered about was the harness fixing points, and why i'd stripped the inside of a nissan micra.
