Starts once then won't for a while. Left cold repeat

Micra 2005 - 1.2

Please can you help me since getting this far for a 1st timer (17 year old) it's not started first time that was fixed with a new ignition switch and some wiring issues fixed. It's now back but different.

It will start first time 9/10
If you stop the engine or stall it won't restart for a random time period up to 5min but still on test

When it won't start it cranks and starts up as normal for a split second then stops

Also to note on a start up from cold it sounds like it's misfiring. (Plugs changed with no change)

Can anyone help

Thanks in advance

Hi, seems you have check the plugs.
Probably should give the coils a look.
(Engine shaking)
Camshaft sensor for crank no start.

coils as mentioned above that could be causing misfire on one of the cylinders.
A diagnosis tool would be most helpful to locate if you need to pinpoint the problem and not have to waste your money by firing the parts cannon.
(Probably isn't a blocked exhaust)
If you can get a diag tool then you will be able to find the code and narrow down the search this might save a bit of time as well.
(other possible solutions are wiring issue so check the ground points are clean.)

Zero cost quick test.

When it stops & won’t restart, try holding the accelerator pedal to the floor throttle wide open & then spin the engine on the starter for up to one minuet & it may dry the plugs & the exhaust gas O2 sensors & restart.

Keep the pedal to the metal & do not pump the throttle when attempting to restart.

When it catches & restarts release the throttle asap.

Good luck.
