is it stalling when warm ? ie... when you slow down at lights ?

could it be something to do with the starter motor?
my friends punto's power steering only messes up when warm turned out to be the motor so just speculating

Ive looked it up on Autdata for you mate.....heres the results....
ENGINE HARD TO START WHEN HOT.....CHECK THE FOLLOWING

1..FUEL PUMP NON RETURN VALVE
2..FUEL PRESSURE/DELIVERY RATE
3..AIR INTAKE AND VACUUM CHECK FOR LEAKS
4..ENGINE COMPRESSION
5..(ECT) COOLANT TEMP SENSOR
6..INJECTORS
7..ENGINE MANAGMENT WIRING/CONNECTIONS
8..CATALITIC CONVERTER
9..ECU FAULT

This is the list autodata says to check.....hope it helps mate

sounds like the idle speed bleed screw is set too low

when cold the IAV autochoke opens and the engine revs up fine.
but when warm the IAV closes, lowering the revs to the base idle set by the idle bleed screw.
when you restart the warm engine with the IAV already closed, the base idle rev is not high enough to maintain momentum.

increase the base idle speed by unscrewing the allen key head behind the TB till it revs at 750rpm warm and 1200rpm cold.
