yeah i noticed im thinking of building one, but i dno about engine mounts, and how to upgrade my brakes

You would use the donor cars brakes I would have thought?

Many have been tried and failed, only a small few have been accomplished

sound brakes wont be a problem then, just mounts i gotta sort now

It's not a simple engine swap. There's alot of work involved. That's why so many people eventually give up on it.

i no i no, got the funds to buy a donor and a few bits, just need to find ot about mounts. loom, ecu, brakes and that can come off the doner

Iirc the chassis leg needs bashing in too for the clearance

There is also about 1cm clearance around the bay for it to fit

Best to look for an N15 GTi as a donor. Find a rusty one or an MOT failure and hopefully all the parts needed will be there with exception of some bits, i.e. The correct driveshafts etc...

If you do go ahead with it then be the guy to properly document it with decent write ups and lots of
