i am currently doing a engine change from a cg10 to cg13 (1998)
the small problem i have is that the car has a cable speedo and the engine thats going in has a electrical speedo, and its not just a matter of swaping them over as they are different (the hole and the cog are different in size)

picys to help http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2206654/1

many thanks toney

just to make sure, the hole where it pushes into the gearbox is bigger?

if so i guess you will have to use the old gearbox untill you find a cable driven speedo 1.3 gearbox,

unless someone else has any idea or have come across this before

just use a mechanical 1.3 speedo drive they fit inthe same hole as the electrical drive, and it attaches in the same way to the 1.0 speedo drive cable. dont bother trying to rewire a new set of instruments, its near impossible becasue of the differences in loom.

yes i have gone thruoug all these nightmares. it fits no problem, i at 1st spent £45 on buying a new instruments and then 2 days trying to rewire, its not possible. then i tried buying a 1.3 mech drive and it slots straight it. live and learn.

in your 1st post you mean the gearbox going in is electric speedo and not engine yes?
