Sony CDX-2250 fitting help

Hi,

i have the 1998 micra si. wanting to install my new cd player into it. however not too sure whether to remove the old one or not. apparently i have heard that if you disconnect the battery the immobiliser is armed and will stop all radio devices installed, until the correct code is entered (this i dont have) well being as i have a new stereo will this be the case for that too, i.e will i have to enter the code into the new player? meaning im pretty much Screwed. also anyone know how to find out the code, if i ever have to reinstall the old unit btw?

cheers kris

Right, you should be able to removed the HU without any fuss.

I removed mine and replaced it without any problems and did not need to enter the code into the unit when I replaced it.

Should just be a straight forward job as long as you get the wiring adapter for your HU to use the wiring setup.

It's true that disconnecting the battery will arm the code lockout on the radio (done it on my tape one) as will disconnecting the radio (or head unit, if u like) so u need the code for it if u want to use it again. I don't know how to get the code, though the garage that my dad bought the car from did  I think ur options there are to take it to a Nissan dealer with some kind of proof of ownership (like it being installed in the car) or get it cracked at a specialist car radio place. As far as putting the new one in goes, Hugh and Repetetsir are right; it will depend entirely on the radio and pretty much all of them just have some bit that comes off rather than a code.

Installed

 cheers for the advice guys, i bought the HU adapter to and it was like you said as easy as 1 2 3. the CDx-2250 is a nice little player too.
