Shock absorbers...how long to replace !

Hi all...my first post. Bought a K10 three months ago and head gasket blown ..in the three months had a f/n/s shocker replaced and was charged 2 hours labour. The guy I bought the car from is saying the job should only take 1/2 an hour. The garage that did the work quoted me before they did the job so they can't say they encountered unexpected problems. What does everyone think ?

Not sure about the k10 but for the k11 it takes 45 mins max to take strut out. Take spring off and put on to new shock and back in. Even with problems couldn't see it being more than an hour.

Supplied and fitted for a K10 Micra one shock is £60 at a good back street garage.

Thanks guys...I paid 100 so what with the blown head not had a good three months motorwise !

well most garages will go by manuals and what autodata say so if it says 2hrs and it takes them half hour they have every right to charge the 2hrs at their labour costs!!!!!

when i swapped all my suspension over on my k11 for the lowering kit took me 1.30hrs approx

That's not awful I certainly don't feel like you have been ripped off at that price!
