rwd k10?

has many people tried this thats known of? i presume its been done before? im thinking of getting a mk1 or mk2 escort rear axel and cutting the mounting points off the k10 and welding them to the escort axel and throwing a 4age lump up front. any suggestions lol:laugh:

RWD K10 is an amazing idea

what about leaving the FWD lump in and putting a Ninja engine in to boot disconnecting the MA10 lump so it would just act as weight in the front.

4AGE RWD using a GTIR sunny axle rather than MK2 escort (that would be amazing)

SR20 RWD Quick nurse the screens

Or if you are really nuts

VG30DE normally asperated 300zx engine RWD K10

AWESOME

Its not just me that things of these things then

good luck mate :D Id personaly go for mx5 as a donor. Its cheap enough, loads of parts and you got the whole car for good cash. and if you lucky you might find one with lsd.

I would go sr20 + s13/4/5 suspension set up. Loads of parts to choose from. But from an uninformed view, I would think it would be pretty crap. and if it costs £3k + parts + car. Then your talking '00 honda s2000 or '00 5litre v8 bmw m5 money (£4-5k) And I know which one I would prefer.

i agree, it,ll end up being another abandoned project that ends up getting parted, and uninsurable too

not this one:p just need to think it threw before i go ahead with it get all the parts then go nuts (Y) i bet it would be a twitchy f*cker sideways

its the biggest factor in modifying really doing stuff on a budget now is still bloody expensive lol. i will be doing all the work myself tho so will save a small fortune (Y)

Sadly! The thing is people think these projects are simple. "oh lets just chuck an SR20 in". i was one of those people thinking the SR20 4WD K10 was an easily achievable goal, and the guy doing it obviously did too. I guess it just comes down to who's doing the work and how deep your pockets are. I'm gutted my K10 will never see the road again

so where did it go wrong arnold?

Will be a great thing to look at but I bet it will be a nightmare in the wet! Similar to the old rwd starlets great fun but scary!!
I'd look into getting a starlet rear diff and drive train or an ae86 set up! That would be easier than an sr20det from a pulsar I'd imagine
Either that or buy a proper drift car and keep the Micra as a scrabble wagon! I've got more than 1 of everything 3 rwd, 2 fwd and 1 4wd

yeah i was reading about this project the other day its a shame it would of been an awesome achievement but like ya say it boils down to cash at the end of the day and someone really dedicated to undertake the work. most of the guys round here i would run a mile if they had a welder in there hand:laugh: for the minute ive decided to put this on hold as i will be buying umar's cherry turbo conversion(Y)

thats the whole fun of it :p but yeah would be easier with a solid back axle i would get stressed out trying to rig a independent setup up. i wouldn't go down the route of the sr20 my favorite option would be 4age on throttle bodies(Y)

Rs turbo lump would be different and the old Cvh lumps are fairly cheap nowadays

I have an s14 and I'm ripping the lot out and dropping in a 13bt engine hate the sr noise the engines good I should know I rebuilt it! It just sounds like a fart in a tin can lol

yeah i agree i had a sunny gti before the micra the sound of it was horrid but went like sh*t lol 13b 200sx that will be sweet i got rid of an s13 a few years ago so wish i still had it:down: i love the sound of the rotory's tho (Y)

That's why I'm rotorising the s14 love the brap brap brap brap noise!! I've had a few s13s and have one which I'm rebuilding, the ca motoris much nicer sounding but it is a 4 pot version of the rb engine :D

yeah the ca's aint bad but im with ya on the brap brap brap noise lol think my next motor will be rwd possibly another s13 or if i can save up enough a ae86

so where did it go wrong arnold?

I think it's fair to say Kristian bit off more that he could chew. Promised alot and couldn't deliver, which is a shame. I had alot of money prepared to go into it as well.

Should have given jez at h.devs a call might have been able to help you, as you live in horsham and they are one of the biggest sr20det boffins around

Horsham Developments are located in another town called Horsham. There's a lot of places who can do the SR20 engine work, but there was alot more to the conversion than that. Basically, it was like building a brand new car, and sadly, started on the stupid easy bits first instead of the serious stuff.
