Running sluggish

Hi all got a bit of a problem got a 1ltr facelift model with 126,000 miles on the clock and it has over the last year or so become really sluggish and slow top speed used to be 100-105mph nowadays I struggle to get 75mph has any one else had this problem and found a solution or you reckon my blocks just had it

try checking the throttle cable first. My wife's car was terrible and when I checked it and re-adjusted it its likes a different car now. She was really impressed at how fast it suddenly seemed. the cable had gone really slack.
Just take the air box off and its under there. Worth a quick check for nowt.

Have you tried changing oil and filter, flush the engine, change plugs, filters etc . should get rid of the sluggish

Gave it a service and changed everything about six months ago I'll try the throttle cable any other ideas I know there is a problem with solder joint on the TB does any know what you have to do to rectify this?
