Running issues, help ?

I've got a 1999 1ltr dizzy engine micra.
It's got a problem, I can take it out it'll run fine, if I stop somewhere for a bit, turn it off go in a shop or whatever, when I get back in to drive I'll get down the road a bit and it'll start stuttering and it will get worse until I'm basically bunny hopping down the road.
I'll then pull over for 30 mins and it will drive fine again after ?
Any ideas ? I'm thinking distributor issue ?

Simple quickest & cheapest test is to unplug the MAF on the TB & drive it.
