Running Around without a filter installed

So if I were to take out the stock filter, and just put the lid back on the air box, what damage am I going to cause? Any Long term damage?

Im sure I read someone took the air box off completely and was running like that, but I cant for the life of me find it.

Well, anything can get into your engine basically. Work it out from there.

i ran my super s with a drainpipe and no filter for a couple of years, but it,s not advisable, in a dusty climate you would wreck the engine in no time :upside:

Yeah your bound to end up having some sort of crap in your engine, just out of intrest mate, how comes you want to do this anyway?

Just got bored yesterday, and took it off, I dont plan on doing it again, and I only went about a mile like it. Just wondered what would happen long term. Am I right in thinking its maybe like .5/1bhp gain? or is it not even that.

Take your filter out and have a look at it. Any bugs and grit and stuff there? I know there used to be on my K10 one. Basically all that would now be inside your engine, not good and probably not worth the risk
