Rev counter not working K11 coilpack

I have two sets of rev counter clocks for facelift K11, they both work as I had one running in a 1st facelift and the other set in my previous 2nd facelift.


My issue is when i have tried either of them in my current 2nd facelift the speedo/temp/fuel gauges work but the tacho does not.
It is a very late k11 (the type with stubby wiper/indicator stalks) is there a fundamental difference in the wiring or even the ECU?

Hoping someone can shed some light on why the tacho does not work and knows how to get around the issue.

Some miss the wire for the tacho signal. Easy to pull the wire from cluster to ecu.
