Can anyone tell me if it is possible to replace cvt and moter with standard auto? Need to get this car running. Can't afford the prices quoted by Nissan (and others) for new cvt. Don't know what to do with the thing otherwise. Can anyone help, please?

Hi Anne

There are no standard automatics available in Australia for the K11.

You may be lucky to find a few automatics attached to motors imported from japan. But you will need the electronics associated with these motors to make them work properly.

Is the vehicle insured? Sometimes you can have major mechanical repairs like this covered under insurance.

cheers and goodluck finding a resolution.

You need to find a replacement CVT from a reputable wrecker (with a warranty) and then get it installed. This is the cheapest option (About $1500 to $2000) I know of to get it working again. Nissan would charge way heaps more.
